Assistance For Private Treaty Sales
• Registered Cattle (5%
of Gross)
Fee payable by seller at the time of sale.
Fee includes clerical work for transfer of registration certificates.
• Commercial Cattle (4%
of Gross) and/or Steers ($4/hd w/ $50 min.)
Fee payable by seller at the time of sale.
• Cattle for Export (10%
of Gross)
Fee payable by seller at the time of sale.
Fee includes clerical work for transfer of registration certificates.
Association Managed Dispersion, Production, and/or Consignment Sales
• In-States Sales (Full
Service - 5% of Gross)
Fee includes: Engaging auctioneer, announcing sale date in association publication,
selection of sale cattle, catalog preparation and design, mailing catalog
(postage excluded), advertising preparation & design, placing advertising
(actual ad costs excluded), consultation in setting up sale facilities & sale
order, general promotion, working in sale box on sale day, clerking the sale
(handling receipts & disbursements, & clerical work for the transfer of registration
certificates.)
• In-State Sales (Reduced
Service - 3% of Gross)
Fee includes: Engaging auctioneer, announcing sale date in association publications,
selection of sale cattle, consultation in setting up the sale facilities &
sale order, general promotion, working in the sale box on sale day, & clerking
the sale. This option does not include: developing & placing of advertising,
preparation of catalog or mailing of catalog. (See services below.)
• Out-of-State Sales
Same as In-State Sales above plus $250/day and travel expenses.
Assistance-Only Sales
• In-State Assisted Sales
1% of 1st $100,000 gross proceeds, .5% on 2nd $100,000, .25% thereafter
(Minimum Fee - $400). Service includes: Reviewing cattle before sale date
in association publications, general promotion, and use of membership/mailing
file for mailing labels with contract mailing costs billed separately. Clerking
sale for added .5% gross up to $500 maximum fee.
• Out-of-State Assisted Sales
Same fee and services as In-State assisted sales plus $250/day and travel
expenses.
Other Services
• Contract Mailing
Use of association membership/mailing list 5¢ per name with a minimum
order of $100. This service for use by members of the Virginia Angus Association
and only in connection with Angus enterprises and subject to Board approval,
postage excluded.
General Disclaimers
Any deviation from or modification
of above options must be approved by the Virginia Angus Association Board
of Directors.
All registration and transfer
fees are seller's expense. The Virginia Angus Association arranges, sponsors,
and manages sales as a service to its members and not as their agent.
All transactions are between buyer
and seller, and the Virginia Angus Association assumes no legal liability.
